On May 1, 2025 (also known as May Day or International Labor Day and celebrated across the globe since the 1880s), thousands gathered in Chicago, as well as across the U.S., to voice their opposition to escalating attacks on immigrants and the working class. The march started in Union Park and ended 3.5 miles away at Grant Park, where Mayor Brandon Johnson and other leaders and activists spoke to the large crowd.
